The buyers are still in the wait and watch mode since the new laws RERA and GST have come into full force. There has been negative sentiment towards the real estate industry. Buyers are waiting to know more about the impact of the new laws and how it will affect them. There is still a lot of ambiguity over the same.

The future, however, looks better and fruitful as more clarity is expected on the laws. It is expected that the real estate sector will revive in next six months. Stakeholders are in the opinion that as we move forward the economy will reflect better result and it will become more transparent which will, in turn, get more and more potential buyers.

The increasing transparency and the special status given to the affordable housing will help in smoothen the flow of funds in the real estate sector.

Recently the number of housing project launches has reduced to almost zero. This is because the developers are now busy completing their ongoing projects owing to the introduction of the new laws RERA and GST.

It is expected that in coming six months the situation will be clearer and the developers will launch their projects. As the festive season is not far, we can expect few project launches.  Since the developers cannot launch projects until they have received all the approvals by the government, it can be one of the reasons for the decrease in a number of launches.

Undoubtedly the recent laws have been implemented to bring more transparency in the sector and be more vigilant towards the buyer and listening to their grievances. The success of these laws lies in the hands of the lawmakers. If they are implemented strictly, the sector is bound to flourish.

There is a lack of office space to setup offices for the same. It is expected that this will give a higher push to the rentals and the income from the same will increase.

The buyers are going to wait till the situation is more clears to them regarding real estate and the new policies. There is no need to rush for the same as well. It is better to wait and be sure about the impact of the laws before taking a huge step and buying the property.
