Frequent change in climate creates a lot of disturbance in ecology disturbing the life of both animals and nature. Not only does it create ecological imbalance but also disturbed the housing pattern and living space of humans.

Let’s further understand it in a better way:

  • It is difficult for people to find a perfect home which could guarantee free from such ecological problems like floods, droughts, water scarcity etc.
  • Due to increasing pollution levels and imbalance in nature which leads to less rainfall and drought like situation which becomes difficult to provide adequate water supply to the increasing urban population leading to water scarcity.
  • Human housing also has to face major challenges from natural calamities like floods, droughts, earthquakes etc. where there are huge human loss and huge material loss at the construction sites, undue delay in the project. In short it brings the activities of that place to a standstill.
  • These climatic changes bring a huge change in the real estate sector as well where there is price fall in the rent rate. It also adversely affects the sale of property, especially the low lying and flood prone areas.
  • Such climatic change also helps in bringing price correction and stabilisation of the real estate sector. Huge investors tend to invest more during such time as there is price fall in the real estate sector.
Methods to overcome such challenges

  • As it is said we need to satisfy the unlimited human wants in limited available resources. So this could only be achieved if people start using sustainable and eco-friendly resources which also would save the environment from other harm.
  • Newer construction should push on building sustainable homes that help in preserving the scarce resources.
  • More such newer technology needs to be developed which helps to conserve and reduce the usage of power and water. Also, new means need to be found which helps in eliminating the generation of waste.
  • Modern technology such as solar panels for electricity generation, solar heaters, rain water harvesting, sewage treatment etc. should be used to conserve the scarce and limited resources. This can also be used as a tool to boost the sale of houses.
How to build self-sustaining homes

  • Minimizing the usage of water and recycling the waste water. harvesting the rainwater and using it throughout the year.
  • Segregating the wet and dry waste disposing of hazardous waste after proper treatment and in a proper manner.
  • Avoiding or reducing the usage of technology that creates pollution and imbalance in the nature.
  • Using solar technology to generate power and supply it to residential as well as commercial areas.
Measures to fight natural calamities

  • Building should be built with sufficient insulation and should be built earthquake proof.
  • Everyone should be made aware of how to face such calamities and not panic during the occurrence. They should be provided with proper training so that they can protect their lives during such time.
  • The building should have proper fire fighting equipment’s in working conditions and the building should also have evacuation spaces.
  • First aid box always needs to be kept handy with all the basic medical supply.
