Lippan (means mudwashing in Gujarati) and kam (meaning work) is a decorative wall art done by women and men from Kutch inside local bhung as/ mud huts. Shibani Jain, founder, Baaya Design shares essential information to bring in this traditional art form.

This artwork depicts birds, trees, animals, human figures etc. and is done with a mixture of clay and camel dung. An adhesive is used to stick mirrors.
Small round, diamond-shaped or triangular mirror pieces are essential to lippaikam No colour or only white/ mud outlines are used in this artwork.
Lippaikam can be used in the bedroom, living room or as a backdrop in the temple area, which would bring in a sparkling effect and traditional look to your home interior.
Mirror lippaikam, when used in the interior space, gives an elegant and glamorous look to the interiors.
