Sometimes, correcting vastu defects (or vastudoshas as they are called) is not possible easily through renovation. In such a case, follow these easy tips by expert SK Mehta, and make your home into a space that attracts prosperity and happiness…

Moneyplant creepers are a symbol of progress.

1. Get home a moneyplant creeper. It is a symbol of progress and very easy to procure.

2. Keep a fish tank; it's the key to wealth and paves your path to a better future.

3. Create a place of worship in the North East corner of your house or office. Light a lamp every morning and evening.

4. Draw a swastika sign on the main door of your house with sindoor. This helps in getting rid of the ill effects of wrong vastu.

5. To reduce the ill effects of vastudosha, you can place a photograph of panchmukhi (five-faced) Hanuman, facing the main door of your house.

6. Banana and tulsi plants also help in reducing the ill effects of bad vastu.

7. Light camphor at least once a week at your home. The smoke is purifying.

Keep the main entrance illuminated​. A swastika sign will banish ill-effects of bad vastu.

8. If your house is surrounded by structures taller than yours, plant a tree that will grow to a great height.

9. Decorate the staircase with flowers to restrict negative vibes entering your place.

10. In case the kitchen is built in the wrong direction than what vastu prescribes, light a bulb daily in the South East corner of the house.

11. Always keep the main entrance illuminated. Use plants for positive energy.

12. Use a climber that grows upward and get rid of any creeper that's growing downward.

13. Light incense every Saturday and Tuesday. This will eradicate negativity and bring positivity into your home.
