An uncluttered kitchen with plenty of storage makes prepping, cooking and even cleaning easy and fun. Organized kitchen saves you time, improves functionality and makes a potentially exhausting cooking process more enjoyable. Architect Sanjukta Nandy lists clever ways to reduce chaos and restore order in your kitchen.

1Smart cabinets and drawers:

Opt for tall cabinets that extend all the way to the ceiling. This not only offer more storage, but also makes a kitchen appear larger and grander. There is a gamut of options in cabinets and drawers to get the kitchen in order.

2Cheerful open shelves:

To maximize the use of space in your kitchen, use the free space on your walls and fix open shelves and cabinets. Shelves can be used to store plates, mugs, glasses, pots etc. While organizing shelves, arrange pans, plates, pots and skillets that are used occasionally at the top and ones that are used on a daily basis on the lower shelf so that they are within your reach.

3Neat organization of appliances:

In most modern kitchens, there are appliances like blenders, toasters, coffee makers, juicers etc. for almost every kitchen function. Create a cabinet or a space where you store all your kitchen appliances so you can easily find them when you need them.

4Clever, vertical, pullout larder:

Pullout drawers are an excellent option to store jars and bottles. Identically sized storage containers make the cabinets look neater and more streamlined. Storing spices in small containers on the inside of a cabinet door ensures systematic access in the kitchen.

5Apt closed door pullouts:

Wooden pullout trays or wire-mesh trays behind a closed door does the trick. Grouping like items together saves space. From the spice and oil tray on the countertop to small grouping of appliances, little organized vignettes all over the kitchen sets in the organized mood.

6Trim under-counter tandem drawers:

Under counter tandem drawers or internal drawers are perfect if you want to conceal drawers and maintain the design aesthetics of a highline kitchen without having to expose the drawer. Wide, deep drawers offer an ideal way to create an uncluttered finish in the busy kitchen. The deepest range of drawers available in the market widths up to 2000mm and depths of up to 650mm. Available in a number of ranges, the drawers have a maximum weight capacity of 60kilograms, if they are over 600mm wide then 40kilograms on the smaller drawers, making them strong enough for storing pots and pans as well as food items and cutlery. The internal drawers (inner drawer dividers such as cutlery dividers, plate holders and spice jar holders) can be concealed behind drawers and doors to make sure your kitchen looks fantastic internally and externally.
